Ισραηλινός αξιωματούχος δήλωσε στους Times of Israel ότι ο διοικητής του Ναυτικού των Φρουρών της Ισλαμικής Επανάστασης, Αλιρεζά Τανγκσίρι, σκοτώθηκε σε αεροπορική επιδρομή στο Μπαντάρ Αμπάς.
Σύμφωνα με την ίδια πηγή, ο Τανγκσίρι φερόταν να έχει καίριο ρόλο στον σχεδιασμό πιθανής παρεμπόδισης της ναυσιπλοΐας στα Στενά του Ορμούζ.
Μέχρι στιγμής, δεν υπάρχει επίσημη επιβεβαίωση ή διάψευση ούτε από την πλευρά της Τεχεράνης ούτε από τον ισραηλινό στρατό σχετικά με το περιστατικό.
